Another amazing interview. I’ve always felt Mick Ronson was one of the most underrated guitar players. He has a signature sound. Love him on Rolling Thunder and with Bowie in the Spiders. A great session player. Came up with the All Young Dudes riff (no songwriting credit) and other memorable bits, like Jack & Diane for Mellencamp. He’s one of the best. Fascinating tidbits about Bob, driving around in his Winnebago and keeping to himself.
Thanks so much for this. As a long time Bowie fan, I was so pleased to see more on Mick Ronson. The Rolling Thunder film I saw made that my favorite Dylan show. Ronson was an incredible talent and should be remembered more. 🧡
Love this interview. I was a huge Bowie fan. And loved that first Ian Hunter album with MIck as well as Mick's solo albums. The Rolling Thunder Review is one of my favorite touring eras of Dylan's career. What a band/circus/tour. I had the chance to play one of the smallest venues they played, Dream Away Lodge in the Berkshires in Beckett, MA.
Must be close to Lenox, right? We used to spend a few weeks on vacation there in Summer. Dylan & co must have passed us on the highway going from Boston to Providence (or vice versa)-wish I hadn’t been too young for this tour!!
Very good. Surprised about how tight Bowie was touring and the coke thing may have been fake! She was very generous towards Mick. My wife would not be such. I’d get a posthumous reaming.
Great interview. I highly recommend the Mick Ronson documentary that’s out there. He was really a working class bloke, kind of funny he ended up with Bowie.
Mesmerizing stuff! I love how it’s told from an outsiders perspective-from someone who was no great fan of Dylan’s at first. Then you really feel the impact he has on people. “Hard Rain” (and every other song I’ve heard) were spellbinding. Mark was really something, wasn’t he?

Fantastic interview! Suzi has been in together with Gods, and come out whole….. mesmerizing to have seen Dylan up that close

This is incredible work you are doing. Amazing to have all these first hand interviews! Are you by chance recording these interviews?

I say this every time but this is the best one yet. Thanks, Ray.
