I attended the 1/6/74 Sunday evening show after getting tickets via the lottery (a record-breaking $8.00 per, money order only). I do not recall the house lights coming up during LaRS. BUT I clearly remember most of the audience seemingly firing up their cigarette lighters for the encore, much like in the image captured on the Before the Flood record cover - but much brighter. Might this have been the first time this 'light up' was done on the Tour? Barry Feinstein, the photographer contributing the artwork for Before the Flood was born in Philadelphia. Might that be where his image was captured? Curious. Thanks for your reports, Ray. Following.
Not sure which show the Before the Flood photo came from, maybe someone else knows? I saw a few newspaper reports of the lighters-up thing happening in Chicago prior too.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE COMPLETE INFORMATIONS ON THE SHOW AT THE PHILADELPHIA 'S SPECTRUM JANUARY 6TH 1974. It reminded me a song I love a lot called "wedding song" and particularly the line "you gave me babies 123 ; what is more you saved my life" which is very important. I had those words stuck in my memory until 1980 when I started a painting I called "Highway 61". It was on BOB DYLAN's life story and featured Sara and her 4 children. The life story of BOB DYLAN is so tied to our own life story that every old song that we hear today are bringing back so many memories and feelings that we tend to forget...
Hi Ray, thanks for sharing the tapes! Just a question - the recordings for both the afternoon and evening of the 6th are labelled LB-9309, which is correct for the afternoon show. Do you know the LB number for this version of the evening show?

Thanks Ray. Loved hearing Wedding Song and Mama...true gems. I know there’s the live album from this tour, but it’s great the stuff you’ve uncovered.
perfect that Rick and Robbie are mixed up in the photo caption too
That's hilarious I didn't even notice!
All of Dylan's power on display. Fortunate to see all rhree.
Another great one! Thanks ray.
The Ken story is amazing.
So interesting. Thank you.

Interesting to me that "Down in the Flood" clearly comes from Wedding Song and it's not on the album.

You're right. No I don't; that's what it says on my files too (which I've had for years, don't remember where I got them).
